 MIH Major Events was proud to work alongside Purple Moon and Commonwealth Games Scotland to plan, coordinate and deliver the King’s Baton Relay across Scotland ahead of Glasgow 2026.

Over three weeks, the Baton travelled the length and breadth of the country, from Glasgow to the Isle of Lewis, Aberdeen to the Scottish Borders, connecting people and places through sport, culture and community.

MIH helped make the journey happen. Working closely with stakeholders, events and local communities, we turned an ambitious national programme into a coordinated delivery plan, agreeing how and where the Baton would appear and managing the logistics and movements that connected every stage of the Relay.

By train, plane, ferry, car and bike, the Baton travelled through cities, islands, towns and communities across Scotland. Behind every stop was detailed planning and coordination, making sure the Baton, the people and the logistics came together in the right place at the right time.

At its heart, the Relay was about people, place, sport, pride and community. The Baton provided the thread that connected them all, creating moments that celebrated Scotland, Team Scotland and the journey to Glasgow 2026.
