case study
Project: Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026
Client: Glasgow 2026 Organising Company
MIH Role: Strategic Advisors and Delivery- Games Experience
MIH Major Events provided strategic advisory and embedded delivery leadership for Glasgow 2026, with oversight of three key Games Experience workstreams: Spectator Experience, Look, Wayfinding & Signage and Live Sites.
Working directly for the CMO, MIH helped turn the Games Experience vision into an integrated and deliverable programme, connecting the creative ambition of the Games with the operational realities of venues, the city and Games-time delivery.
Our role crossed traditional functional boundaries. We worked collaboratively across operations, venue management, marketing and communications, transport, accessibility, cultural programming, delivery partners and city stakeholders, creating a joined-up approach between the Organising Company, venues and the city.
MIH led a team responsible for shaping the end-to-end spectator journey, with a particular focus on ensuring it connected seamlessly with other Games deliverables. MIH provided strategic oversight and project leadership across the Games-wide programme of Look, Wayfinding and Signage, maximising impact within significantly reduced budgets and lead times while balancing the needs of broadcast, teams, athletes and spectators.
For the Live Sites MIH led the programme from initial concept through adaptation and budget development to operational delivery. This included managing changing requirements, overseeing Event Delivery Partners, working closely with Council teams and key stakeholders, and providing oversight through the live operational period.
Ultimately, MIH’s role was about integration and Making It Happen: connecting strategy with delivery, city with venues, and creative ambition with operational reality to help create one coherent, welcoming and distinctly Glasgow 2026 Games experience.
